Changing the Order of the Notes (Desktop)

What it is: A way to rearrange the numbered notes in the Annual Financial Statements so that the note numbers appear in the correct sequence on the main financial statements.

What it's for

The notes to the financial statements are numbered in the order they are referred to on the Statement of Financial Position (SoFP) and the Statement of Comprehensive Income (SoCI). If you add, remove, or reorder notes, the numbers on those statements must still run sequentially. Moving notes on the notes sheet automatically renumbers them everywhere they are referenced.

How to do it

Reordering notes (DX108)

  1. Open the Notes sheet on the Annual Financial Statements.
  2. Find the note you want to move. Click on that note and select Design.
  3. Click Move Up or Move Down to shift the note to its new position.
    • You may need to click several times — the note has to pass each collapsed (closed) note one at a time before the number updates.
  4. Once you are satisfied with the order, check the SoFP and SoCI — the note reference numbers will have updated automatically to match the new sequence.
